Research Team
Sam Addante is a fifth-year graduate student in the Oklahoma State University (OSU) clinical psychology Ph.D. program under the mentorship of Lucia Ciciolla, Ph.D. Prior to attending OSU, Sam completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Human Development and Family Studies. Sam’s research focuses on examining family emotion-related processes from a developmental psychopathology framework. Sam is specifically interested in understanding the intergenerational transmission of trauma and its effects on a family’s psychosocial functioning. In addition, Sam is interested in investigating factors that may protect against the negative effects of transmission of trauma.

Caitlin Dressler is a first year Ph.D. student at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center under the mentorship of Karina Shreffler, Ph.D. Caitlin obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2019 and continues to work as a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Hospital in OKC. Caitlin has a research interest in maternal-newborn health, focusing primarily on the early childhood development of preterm-newborns. |

Christine is a doctoral student at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in the College of Public Health. Prior to attending OU, she completed a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences at Oklahoma State University – Tulsa (OSU-Tulsa) under the mentorship of Dr. Karina Shreffler. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from OSU-Tulsa. Christine’s work with BLOOM focuses primarily on maternal mental health – specifically, the impacts of maternal childhood trauma on pregnancy, birth, and child development; and identifying factors that may help protect against the effects of trauma on maternal and child health.
Christine is also the evaluation program coordinator for Project REACH, a Tier 1 grant from the Office of Population Affairs that serves Oklahoma City Public Schools by providing comprehensive sex education to middle school and high school students as well as coordinating services for pregnant and parenting teens.
Christine is a firm believer in holistic, family-oriented health and believes that healthy mothers are essential to a thriving society. Christine strives to participate in research that empowers individuals and strengthens families in the state of Oklahoma.

Alysa Kelsh is a bachelor prepared registered nurse and second year nursing Ph.D student at Oklahoma University’s Health Science Center. She works clinically with high-risk obstetric patients at Oklahoma’s Children’s Hospital at OU Health. Her research interests include issues in high-risk obstetric populations, maternal-newborn health, women’s reproductive health across the life course, and maternal health disparities.
Meagan Meadows is the Project Manager for BLOOM. She is currently associate faculty in the College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She is the mother of two children (including a preemie) and a graduate of Oklahoma State University. Her research interests includes: work-and-family issues in critical occupations, childhood adversity and motherhood and longitudinal research.
